Sooke Neighbourhood: Whiffen Spit

Surrounded by the Pacific Ocean, prestigious Whiffen Spit defines the Sooke seaside lifestyle.

Whiffen Spit is located west of the town centre of Sooke, and lies mostly south of West Coast Road (Hwy 14), the main road through Sooke. Beaches, parks, and the world-famous Sooke Harbour House are all features of this wonderful seaside neighbourhood.

A mix of different property types ensures there is something for everyone in the Whiffen Spit neighbourhood in Sooke. There are older houses and duplexes, a few acreages on the waterfront, as well as newer subdivisions like Sooke Bay Estates with its collection of fine, large family homes. A newer townhouse development also resides in the centre of the Spit. Whiffen Spit is also home to some of the finest waterfront property in Sooke, with a combination of low-bank accessible properties to awe-inspiring high-bank estates with sweeping vistas. Most homes in Whiffen Spit have large lots and many have views of the ocean and Olympic Mountains.

There are several parks and beach areas on Whiffen Spit. The most popular is Whiffen Spit Park, which is at the end of Whiffen Spit Road. There is ample parking but it does get busy on sunny days. See below for a map of the neighbourhood and a video of Whiffen Spit Park.
